Give every tooth surface attention

Brush for two minutes, twice a day, with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Use gentle pressure. Cover the four areas listed below as part of your everyday brushing routine.

1. Outer surfaces: Angle the bristles about 45 degrees toward the gumline and use short, gentle strokes.
2. Inner back surfaces: Clean the tongue-facing sides of the back teeth with the same gentle approach.
3. Chewing surfaces: Brush the tops of the back teeth with short back-and-forth strokes.
4. Inner front surfaces: Hold the brush upright and make several gentle up-and-down strokes.
